Setu Club (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a customer loyalty and rewards
platform that connects local shops (“Retailers”) with their customers (“Customers”, “you”).
This Privacy Policy applies to our website, mobile apps and related services (together, the
“Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you provide
- Customers: your mobile number, name, and (optionally) date of birth used to
deliver birthday rewards. When you visit a shop, we record loyalty activity such as points
earned, points redeemed, and the bill amount linked to that transaction.
- Retailers: business name, owner name, mobile number, email, shop address and
(optionally) location coordinates, business category, logo, and wallet/recharge details.
- Communications: messages you send us through contact forms or support.
b. Information collected automatically
- A unique QR identity used to recognise you quickly at the counter.
- Device information and push-notification tokens, so we can send you alerts about points,
offers and account activity.
- Approximate location (only when you use “nearby stores”) to show shops near you.
- Basic usage and log data (e.g. app version, actions taken) to keep the Service secure and
working reliably.
We do not collect or store your bank account, card, or UPI PIN details. We are
not a payment processor.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the loyalty program — issue, redeem, track and expire points accurately.
- To identify you at a shop via mobile number or QR code.
- To send transactional and account notifications (e.g. points earned/redeemed, offers,
birthday rewards, expiry reminders) via push notification and/or SMS.
- To provide retailers with dashboards and reports about their own customers and sales.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep the Service secure.
- To respond to your enquiries and improve the Service.
3. How we share information
- With Retailers: when you transact with a shop, that Retailer can see your
name, mobile number and your loyalty activity at their own store (points balance,
visits, spend). Retailers cannot see your activity at other shops.
- Service providers: we use trusted third parties to run the Service —
for example, Google Firebase (phone-number verification), Firebase Cloud Messaging
(push notifications), and SMS gateway providers (one-time codes and alerts). They process
data only on our instructions.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the
Service, maintain an accurate points ledger, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
You may ask us to delete your account (see “Your rights” below).
5. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information — including
encrypted connections, hashed passwords/PINs, access controls and prepaid-only wallets that
cannot be withdrawn. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect
your data and to promptly address any issues.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access & correction: view and update your profile details in the app at
any time.
- Notifications: you can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and personal data by
contacting us; some records may be retained where required by law.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on Google Firebase (authentication and push messaging) and SMS providers.
Your use of features powered by these providers is also subject to their respective privacy
policies. Links to external websites are provided for convenience and are not covered by this
policy.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and above and is not directed at children. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated”
date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service means
you accept the updated policy.
